Need for speed

The Fox is in charge of dinner tonight. He’s making Cheese Pasta Medley. I’ve done what I can to speed things up. The bacon is diced. The pasta cooked. Come this evening he will only have to make a quick cheesy tomato onion sauce, fry up the bacon, mix everything together & pop it in the oven.

At the moment speed is essential. By the time we get home from Preston, sometimes stopping on the way back to buy food, we’re pretty shattered – more ready for a nap than cooking. Preston seems a long way to go for what is 5-10mins of treatment. Still I suppose we’re lucky. Some people have to travel from Barrow or Newcastle!

Yesterday we stopped at Morrison’s in Morecambe to buy our weekly food. The queue to go in, with social distancing, was so long the Fox abandoned the effort. We’ll try another day, possibly today. We’re just playing it by ear. We are now beginning to run out of essentials like sugar for the Fox’s tea. If necessary we’ll go to the small supermarket opposite the hospital.
