Great excitement
yesterday. Some of the snowdrops finally decided to open out & show the
green frill to their white flower. Unfortunately some of the snowdrops seem to
have met with carnivores. It looks as though some slugs or snails have had a
good meal, rasping away at the soft leaves & buds. Still the main thing is
that some are surviving & opening up. Spring must surely be coming.
Admittedly today is
pretty cold but at least it’s dry. The weather forecast suggests it will be the
coldest day of the winter. I can’t say that so far. The wind is not blasting
too much & that is what makes you feel really cold. Having said that I feel
no urge to strip off a layer.
