Garden update

All the rain we’ve had of late has encouraged the garden to burst into flower. Now not only the daffodils are out, but the pulmonaria are too. The snowberry trees are covered in buds as is the apple tree. The evergreen clematis trails along the fence. The kerria I think it’s called, is covered with orangey yellow fluffy-looking balls. The lawn is lushly green, in dire need of a cut though it’s too wet for the mower at the moment. The garden is definitely waking up & preparing for the summer to come.

We keep hoping to make it to a garden centre to get some plants for the front garden. Our gardener has given us a list of suggestions. She’s thinking along the lines of some bright red rhododendrons, mixed with some azaleas. The biggest problem is to find something that is evergreen to give us some privacy whilst not being too tall as the bed is raised to begin with. She’s then proposing some lily-of-the-valley on the house side. They provide such wonderful scent.

With all these colds & hospital trips – we’ve another next week for my last dose of bisphosphonates – we’re just not getting to do anything but basic chores. We’re beginning to think we would be better off buying on line. We have bought like that before & the plants have arrived in good condition. It may well be the solution this time.
