A touch of magic

Yesterday we went along to the CancerCare place in Slyne, just outside Lancaster. We had been referred there by the hospital as a place where there may be some therapies that might help us both relax a bit through the stress of this period.

We had an hour’s session in which they found out something about us & our needs & told us what they had available to offer. I’m tempted by the idea of an Indian head massage, the Fox by a full body massage. Both treatments would be free, being regarded a part of the treatment for the cancer. I’m certainly convinced we would both benefit from something that would help us relax a bit more. The Fox is also tempted by trying the Alexander technique in the hope that improving his posture may help his arthritic hips & his lame leg. We can only do one course at a time. Anyhow we shall see what happens.

On Tuesday we did the shopping. Afterwards we went along to the golf club for a relaxing drink. We came out about 5pm, long after night had fallen. Looking north there was a fabulous light patch in the sky. Pale silvery gold with purple grey small clouds crisscrossing the area. We stopped to look at the patch. Soon a bright shiny edge appeared behind one of the clouds. We watched as this grew. It was the moon, a large moon at that. I had the impression of the moon rising in the sky to fill the space, though I suspect the reality is that the clouds were gently blown further across to let the moon be revealed. It was really beautiful to behold.
