I’m having another day of
waiting. We’re having our shed floor replaced. I’m told the wood etc. will be
delivered sometime today. So I wait. The garage door is unlocked ready for them
to put the goods in to keep them dry until the workmen arrive tomorrow.
Why do we need the floor
replacing? Damp. When the jump was previously done the floor was put in below
the damp course with the result the floor is sodden & rotting away.
When we had the double
glazing done a couple of years ago, we used the old bathroom window to replace
one of the rotting windows. The workman put his foot through the floor in the process.
It’s even more dangerous
now. I very gingerly enter to get the cushions for our outside seating. The Fox
is equally nervous when he needs to get new light bulbs, tools, etc.
The lad who’s doing most of
the job was going to do it last year. However, he ended up in hospital having a
couple of operations instead. Now he’s fully recovered & ready to get on
with the job. We hadn’t wanted to pressure him too much when he was unwell, but
we will be glad when the job is done.
