A neighbour came round yesterday. I asked if she had any idea what the police etc. was all about last weekend.
She couldn’t swear it was true but she told me what the rumour machine reckoned.
Apparently late Friday night/early Saturday morning the wife of the couple decided she was leaving her husband for good, taking the children with her. The husband would have none of that. The wife’s brother & father turned up to rescue her. In the process they beat the husband so severely he was sent to Preston hospital, not the local Lancaster one. Presumably the father & brother were arrested by the police.
We’re still keeping an eye open for a local press report but no luck so far. There’s certainly been no sign of the family since.
