Bloods & flowers

I’m sitting here, glass of water beside me. I’m under strict orders to keep drinking all morning so hopefully when they come to take my bloods this afternoon it will be a little easier than usual.

Meanwhile my thoughts go to the garden. One pair of our visitors last week noticed that in the midst of our white camellia there was a single beautiful pink camellia in full flower. Meanwhile our pink camellia, nearer the house, remains in bud.

The pink camellia when it finally decides to open out

Now I’m being struck by the delicate white flowers of the snowberry trees opening out. It seems appropriate as yesterday we had snow again. Winter seems to be returning.
