Still dithering

The sun is shining once more. There’s even some warmth. Gone are the cold winds of late – or at least they’re gone as far as our garden is concerned, though they may well be blowing on the prom. Needless to say I’ve got the washing out & the sheet has already dried. All that remain are the heavyweights – the towels, bath mat, oven gloves & trousers.

Having finally decided we would book one of the trips on the cruise, assuming of course it was using a wheelchair accessible coach, we now admit we both have cold feet about of booking it. Neither of us are great coach riders. Although the scenery sounds fabulous, it doesn’t alter the fact a three hour evening coach trip beginning at 6.50 pm sounds very conducive to nodding off, which would be a waste if that happened.

We both have variable health conditions. We cannot be certain whether we will be physically up to the trip so far in advance. On the day, yes. A month before, no. Will we be too drained by then? Would we prefer just to stay on the ship and enjoy a quiet meal instead?

All that also doesn’t allow for variable weather conditions. There seems very little point of going for a scenic trip if the rain is pouring down. On top of which, even in the land of the midnight sun surely it must be darkening by 10.20 pm.

As you see we’re all of a dither. We’ll think some more.
