Looking forward

Finally I’m off to see the dentist. It will be a relief to have the hole filled. It hasn’t hurt particularly. However, I seem to be permanently trying to tweak out food that’s got lodged in the cavity. It’s been good to know that I could have rung if there had been pain.

Meanwhile the Fox is contemplating ringing the emergency dermatology number. The blisters on his legs have been oozing yellow pus for a while. Last night it turned to blood. None of it sounds healthy.

Meanwhile we’re contemplating going away for Christmas. It would avoid the trauma of cooking Christmas dinner. Usually we find the day rather long especially as we don’t feel we can pop round to friends as they are busy with their own families nor can we go to the pub or club as they are either closed or heaving.

On the other hand we’re not sure where we would want to go. Most hotels are pretty tedious places & again you have the problem of nowhere being open.

We have tried going away for Christmas twice before. Neither were really successful. Once we went to Lanzarote & came back with food poisoning. The second time we went to St Lucia. It just didn’t seem the same with Santa arriving on water skis as we sweltered in the tropical heat.

I’m not sure what the answer is. I expect we will end up just staying home & having Christmas on our own.
