Today the post
brought the new map of Northern Italy we ordered. That’s one more thing off the
list of things to do before our holiday. We’ve got the airport parking arranged
too. The EHIC cards arrived last week, just in case we need any medical
treatment while we’re abroad. Things are coming together.
Meanwhile yesterday
we spent yet another day going along to Kwikfit with a puncture. Under the
Motability scheme any tyre repairs etc. are done free with Kwikfit. That means
a trip into Lancaster for us. Our present car seems to be magnet for nails
& screws. This is the third time we’ve had to go in for this purpose &
the car’s not even 3 years old yet!
I’m trying to tell
myself it is just that there seems to be more rubbish on the roads these days
which inevitably means more punctures.
One consolation,
though, is that the free hot chocolate there is good if a bit sweet. And now we
know to go armed with books/magazine for while we wait.
