Enthusiasm

I do love enthusiasm. I love to see it others. It gives people an extra energy & vibrance.

Yesterday we were at the golf club, talking to our cruising friends. She had spent the morning trying to put some interest into a wonderful photo of a sunrise she’d taken earlier in the week. She was determined to give it a more interesting skyline than the straight back wall of their garden. She spent all morning working on it.

She also told us of an experiment she had recently done, trying to catch the colours in bubbles. She & her husband ended up spending most of the day making bubbles, trying to catch one large one in a bowl & in focus. Every time she got it in focus the bubble popped. She persevered until she took something she was content with.

She is at present doing courses, one on photography & one on the use of the computer. She just loves the learning & the experimenting. She’s passionate about it. And how old is this young student? I’m not sure exactly but I’m pretty sure she’s in her late seventies & still keen to learn new things, to master new skills. I think that’s great. It keeps her young.

My humble efforts of learning new things is to read about Italy ready for our hols & Italy. In particular yesterday I had spent a while reading about Mantua (Mantova in Italian). It sounds a fabulous city. It’s built upon three lakes with a ducal place running down to one of the lakes. I think that’s one place we may visit on our holiday if the weather’s good & we’re not too tired to bother.

I wouldn’t guarantee that. Tuesday night I zonked out at 7.15pm not to wake until 8am the next morning. Yesterday, as it was a beautiful sunny day, before we popped into the golf club, we visited a garden centre. We’ve been going to go for ages. When were got there, neither of us felt really with it enough to look round. We didn’t stay long – just too tired. If we continue to feel this tired we may end up just lazing around the hotel, not visiting anywhere on this holiday. Still Lake Garda should be a lovely place to laze & the village we’re staying in does sound as though there are a few places to visit within the village, a few paths to explore along the lakeside just to change the scene a bit without being overly demanding. We're certainly ready for the break & to have someone else look after us.
