The weekend

The rain keeps coming down. It stopped most of yesterday, giving the Fox a chance to mow it. The rain has certainly encouraged everything into a new spurt of growth.

The weekend has also been marked by the cyberattack on the NHS. We anxiously awaited news of whether or not a friend had actually had his op on Saturday or was he among the many cancelled. Luckily he did have it & seems to be doing well.

We also had to put in our repeat prescription for medications at the surgery. It was relief to discover that computer hadn’t gone down.

As for myself, my next hospital appointments aren’t until next week when hopefully things will have settled down once more.

Whatever else this chaos has done it has reminded to be back any important info I have on computer onto a separate stick.

Meanwhile I have persevered with my latest jigsaw – a photomosaic of a tiger. This means there are hundreds of tiny photos of big cats – tigers, lions, leopards, jaguars, cougars etc. – which are then arranged to give an overall big picture of a tiger. I have done similar things using images from the cartoons to produce Winnie the Pooh or Tigger, or of images of the Beatles to produce an overall large image of the Fab Four.

This jigsaw is particularly difficult as the image of the tiger on the cover of the box doesn’t look very definite with the result it is difficult to distinguish the darker areas (the stripes) from the more orange (other part of the stripes) & the background. I am fortunate in that I can see very small without much difficulty whereas many people would have to resort to a magnifier glass just to distinguish the various little photos to join them up. All pieces are essentially the same shape just to make it harder.

I’ve been on the go with this jigsaw most of the week – usually 2-3 days suffices for this size jigsaw. It’s certainly a challenge. Whether it’s worth the effort I’m not sure. It would certainly put off any young child tempted by  a Winnie the Pooh character on the box from ever doing a jigsaw again.
