A new visitor

We’ve got a new visitor to our garden – a hedgehog. Our gardener came yesterday & identified the poo even though she didn’t actually find the animal. We’re now considering what we can do to encourage the animal to stay. There’s certainly plenty of natural food, slugs & snails here, to keep a whole family of hedgehogs going. Let’s hope he stays. I’ve put the Fox in charge of looking to during the night to see if he can see any action – I’m often in bed before this essentially nocturnal creature is on the move.

Our garden is now well & truly in autumnal colours. Trees are either going golden or red, or just dropping leaves. There are golden carpets everywhere.

In the front garden the golden chrysanths are giving way to some rust coloured ones. The alstroemeria lilies still flower – red & yellow in the back, pink in the front. The tables & chairs have been put away for the winter. I can’t see us wanting to sit out now – it’s too cold. Soon the clocks will be changing & then we’ll really feel we’re in winter mode.
