All dressed

The tree is up. No more jigsaws for me until the New Year, more specifically until Epiphany. The lounge is full of sparkle. Lights catch on the glitter on our cards, the tinsel around one of our paintings on the wall, on the shiny glittery baubles on the tree & the silvery glittered star on top. The tree itself has its own multi-coloured lights. A table lamp base, like the tree base, is encircled with red & gold tinsel. A decanter is filled with fir cones that are coated with glitter, the neck of the decanter wrapped in red tinsel. Christmas is on its way.

Yesterday we did what I hope is our last main shop before Christmas. The crowds were horrendous but we know they will only get worse. If we need more of anything, possibly like milk, we will be going to our local corner shop. It may be a bit more expensive but it will be a more pleasant experience.

The one downside is that yesterday also saw us at the Same Day Clinic, at the Queen Vic(toria) Hospital in Morecambe. The Fox’s eczema is returning with a vengeance. Last week he developed a huge blister on his leg. It burst over the weekend, leaking pus & a little blood everywhere. Now there is an area a couple of inches across of raw flesh which doesn’t seem to be healing up. At the clinic they put on a honey dressing, gave him another lot for him to change the dressing in four days’ time. If after that it hasn’t healed up he’s to see the GP. Or perhaps Dermatology at Lancaster Hospital yet again.
