And then there were four

The sky is blue. It’s even warm enough to take some woollies off. The washing is out & drying rapidly.

At the golf club this weekend we were told the news, good or bad was up to our interpretation.

Our cruise loving friends have booked to go on the same Norwegian cruise as us.

We looked at each other, not quite sure how to react.

To be honest we had half expected it. Several times they have suggested we went on a cruise with them, so is this so very different?

I suppose part of our problem is that on holiday we want to get away from the concerns of home, of our life here, will we be allowed to do that with them there?

We were also wanting to evaluate our feelings towards cruising independently. We know they love it but we’re less certain. However, maybe they will be able to show delights we’ve not discovered yet aboard ship. Maybe the Fox will feel freer to go on one of the tender trips ashore if he knows there are friends staying with me, or if he has other company. We’ll just have to see.

Certainly we seem to have set the rules down reasonably well. We are not expecting, or expected, to be in their company all the time. We’ll each go our own way, just coming across one another from time to time. Or at least that’s the proposal.

We’re already planning the trip to Newcastle & the port in convoy. Neither car has space for at least two bags of luggage & a wheelchair plus four people.

Let’s hope all goes well & a good time is had by all.
