The new garden

I’m back to waiting. Yesterday one of the men from the landscaping company was back. This time he came armed with 100 narcissi/daffodil bulbs, which he duly planted under the silver birches, and some mint plants which he planted in the semi-circle of lavender. He also tied up some of the climbers which have already grown sufficiently for another tie to encourage them up the pergolas & fences.

Today the man is coming with the stone seat. However, this man is not so definite about what time of day he may come. In theory we’re off to do the food shop this afternoon, but I’m quite expecting it’s going to turn into an afternoon waiting at home & for the shopping to be done tomorrow instead.

Anyhow immediately I thought I’d post up a few photos of our garden so you could all see what a transformation it’s been.

Here's a few of the garden before work began, or when it had only just started:

The area just as you enter the back garden

Round the back where the greenhouse was, with its small lake

Through the trellis onto the lawn

The old bog garden by the shed

Up the garden after some of the trees were felled

And this is the new garden:

Pergola by the garage, now much improved by a table & chairs, & a row of pot plants on the ugly concrete garage base

The courtyard garden round the back. The neighbour is still building up the wall

Round the back in the courtyard garden with trellis attached t existing wall. We intend to gow some potted climbers on it

The semi-circle raised lavender bed

The raised bed next to te shed with a magnolia in it

The bird table has now taken its place in the middle of the lavender semi-circle

Looking up the garden with second small pergola

Further up the garden

What an improvement! Writing this has made me realise the pictures we've yet to take. (I'm sorry about the odd spacing but I've run out of patience trying to correct it.)
