A busy week ahead

A busy week stretches ahead. Already I’m anticipating the aches to come.

Today we’re off to the hospital once more. It’s physiotherapy time once again for the Fox. We’re left to wonder what agony Rick has in stall for him today.

Tuesday sees a visit from Social Services. We get respite vouchers every year. We use these for paying for Linda, our home help. It’s renewal time. Before any vouchers get issued they like to visit to check they are aware of any changing needs. As far as I can see the only changes in the last year are that I’ve ceased to have osteoporosis & the Fox has gained osteoarthritis in his hip. If anything our need for some help has grown.

Wednesday will be food shopping as usual – a tedious but necessary task.

Thursday is Linda’s visit. Our house has never shone so much as it does now. Mirrors positively gleam. Doors have been scrubbed with an old toothbrush to get every bit of grime from the corners of the panels.

Then on Friday it’s off to the surgery. Every year they like us to have our annual MOT – a blood let & blood pressure check, general health advice session. In this way they monitor my Chronic Kidney Disease and hypothyroidism, & the Fox’s angina and probability of another stroke. Hopefully all will go well. At least we’ve got the most sensible of the nurses to do the job, always a good start.

As I say, it’s a busy week ahead. No doubt we will also manage to squeeze in a visit to the library, the village pub & the golf club too. I certainly hope so.
