Getting sorted

We’ve done it! We’ve actually put in our order for a new car.

We’ve decided upon the Volvo. The Fox does most to the driving & he loves the V60. It does the essential things as far as I’m concerned i.e. I’m a comfortable passenger, it’s fairly easy for me to get in & out, there’s plenty of room in the boot for the wheelchair plus shopping/luggage & I can drive it, even if at first I will have to make some adjustments as I get used to it.

So now we wait word of when our flamenco red car will be ready for collection. We should hear on Monday. We’re expecting it to be some time in October, which suits us as then we will be back from France, ready to appreciate it.

Meanwhile we have to decide what to do with our old car. The garage has agreed to buy it but not for much, just £200. They are happy for us to try to sell it privately in the meantime, hopefully for a higher price, but we are at least guaranteed that £200.

It’s a great relief to no longer have to traipse round garages, trying different models, to be able to get back to our normal slow pace of life.

Meanwhile we’ve had another bit of excitement as the tickets for our holiday have arrived. The company has very kindly included maps of both Paris (where we’re staying a few nights) & Tours (where we’re staying a full week). The holiday seems more real now. We’re looking forward to it.
