Bursting into fire

Broom in full bloom next to the lilac

Beyond the large pergola covered in white clematis at the front & the first strings of purple wisteria at the back, behind the last pink blooms of the camellia, the broom is bursting into flame, a welcome splash of colour before you get to the white sweet-scented lilac & the white hydrangea.

On the other side of the garden the copper hazel is moving from the translucent pink of new leaves to the more red-black of the mature leaves. At its foot the Solomon seal leaves are unfolding revealing the dangling creamy white seals. So far they are avoiding attack from the saw flies & their hungry caterpillars.

The garden moves on a pace.
