I’m in the midst of making soup. So far I’ve made some chicken stock using the carcase. Now I’ve got some vegetables, including some pearl barley, simmering in the stock. Come this evening I’ll be adding some roast chicken scraps & cooking some dumplings in it. I will be serving some soup with it.
What I can’t quite decide is, do we need another course? If so, what? I could make a salad. On the other hand maybe just have cheese & biscuits. Or is something more substantial like a pizza from the freezer just the thing? Decisions. Decisions. I’ll wait until the soup’s made, bar the dumplings, & decide then. Things from the freezer will have time to thaw this afternoon.
