Flocking together

I look out of the window. There, on the telephone wire, are about twenty starlings. Admittedly some are on the post. I follow the line to the post on the other side of the street. Sure enough there’s another group of starlings. Are they collecting to move south to warmer climes? Or is the top of the telephone post a good vantage point to spot food being put out by our neighbours? Either way they’re definitely flocking together.
