We’re rapidly
turning into the season of frosts & dark mornings. Soon it will be time for
the clocks to change. Already we’ve been aware that it’s been getting dark by
6pm. Now the mornings, too, remain dark until 7.30am.
The garden too is
turning into its more wintry garb. The rudbeckia is dying down though the penstimon
& rosemary are having a second flowering. The trees have leaves of all
shades of yellows, oranges & browns. Soon they will drop. Indeed many
already have. The acer is turning a glorious shade of red.
Some plants are just
starting to come out. The winter heathers are gaining colour. Soon there will
be mats of purple to last throughout the cold weather.
There is much beauty
at this time of year, especially on a crystal clear frosty morning like today.
The clarity of light gives everything a special sparkle.
