Getting there

We’re getting there. All the cards are done. The turkey is going to be roasted today. The tree & decorations have come down from the attic. The lights have been checked to make sure they work.

On Thursday we decided to go down to the Barton Grange garden centre. They put on a wonderful display of Christmas decorations of all sorts. There do remain some plants but not many.

It was a treat as we went round the model villages with skaters on ice, Santas delivering presents, children on swing boats etc. We found ourselves smiling at each other. We watched the faces of young children obviously enchanted by it all. Then we turned around to seeing giant penguins singing carols. Altogether we came home feeling like we’d been to a winter wonderland & positive about Christmas.

We completed our day with a meal at our favourite Chinese restaurant, Ricky’s. We were surprised to receive a Christmas card from Ricky & his wife Sue.

The only dampener on our spirits is the fact that the Fox’s legs are once more blistering up & leaking. So much for the treatment. Still there’s no point in chasing the hospital this side of the New Year & shortly after that he should be getting another appointment anyhow. Clearly all this light treatment has not solved the problem - as we feared. At least so far it is only erupting on his legs which I suppose is something.
