The week ahead

I’m once more doing that thing, waiting. Once more I’m waiting for the filling to cool before I top off a pie with pastry. This time I’m using up some cooked gammon as well as some puff pastry. The main reason for deciding to make this pie, though, is to use up some mushrooms. It is a substantial pie but I’m already looking forward to it.

It is a week of disruption ahead. I’ve two hospital appointments, one at the Breast Clinic & one at Orthotics for my new knee braces.

The Breast Clinic is a routine check-up. I’m hoping to have clarified as to what the next stage is. I finish the chemo next month. Is that the end of treatment? Do I have to see the specialist again? I vaguely remember being told I would be going on some pills that reduce the possibility of further cancer appearing.  I appreciate I will continue with annual mammograms for a little while yet, but is that it? The one thing I’m holding onto is that, at my last mammogram last autumn, there was no sign of any new tumours so hopefully all is well & will continue to be.
