Itching

For all the medication the Fox has been given, the rash doesn’t seem to be easing. It still itches, driving him to distraction. He just begins to feel things are improving when the next wave of sore itchiness arrives. He’s once more wondering if it’s worth the effort of trying to see a doctor. He wonders if he did whether they could come up with a better solution than the hospital did. We’re pinning our hopes on a bit of sunshine when we get off to France. Let’s hope that will do the trick.

Meanwhile the weather here is turning wintry. Yesterday we had more snow falling though it didn’t stick. The lawns have patches of white ice on them from the severe frost.

I’m once more reading about the Côte d’Azur, finding new places to visit. As we’re going so early many places will not have opened for the summer tourist season. Still, other places, beautiful little villages such as Gourdon, should be more pleasant for the loss of tourist crowds. At least the art galleries don’t seem to be seasonal (well okay hours of opening may be reduced a bit but that’s all) so I have a suspicion we’ll be off to see the Picasso gallery, the Renoir farmhouse, maybe a Matisse gallery or a Chagall one. What’s more such things are inside so even if it isn’t too warm or it’s wet, they will still be options. Though I forced to admit, the way I’m feeling, & I suspect the Fox is too, just a comfortable, friendly place to sit & read & a comfy bed for plenty of sleep are what I’m really wanting. We may not get anywhere except the hotel we’re staying in & it’s immediate surroundings.
